Es una ciudad de 55.000 habitantes que atrae a casi 30 millones de visitantes cada a\u00f1o. Pero su enorme popularidad no significa que todav\u00eda no haya rincones de la ciudad por descubrir. Como nuestro barrio de Sant\u2019Elena, que tiene el encanto de un peque\u00f1o y tranquilo pueblo italiano. Aqu\u00ed es m\u00e1s probable ver a vecinos paseando a sus perros que a grupos de turistas bajando de autobuses.<\/p>\n<p>Sant\u2019Elena, un retiro espiritual alejado del bullicio de San Marco, es un lugar tranquilo pero con muchas sorpresas que descubrir. Es un centro mundial del arte y la cultura modernos y muestra a los visitantes una cara desconocida de Venecia que pocos turistas ven.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Por supuesto, ir de vacaciones a Venecia y no visitar la Bas\u00edlica de San Marcos, el Puente de los Suspiros y el Palacio Ducal de San Marcos ser\u00eda absurdo, y todos estos monumentos mundialmente conocidos est\u00e1n a poca distancia de Sant\u2019Elena. Muy poca distancia separa Sant\u2019Elena de San Marco, pero los dos barrios son un mundo aparte. Hasta la primera guerra mundial, Sant\u2019Elena fue una isla, aislada del resto de la ciudad en el extremo oriental del sestiere de Castello, el m\u00e1s grande de los seis sestieri (barrios) de Venecia.
